Call for Proposals!

“Pivot! Adaptation & Flexibility in Reference Services”

The California Academic Reference Librarians Discussion Interest Group - South (CARLDIG-S) invites you to submit a proposal for the 2022 Fall Program, Pivot! Adaptation & Flexibility in Reference Services, an online program that will take place Friday, December 2nd via Zoom.

This program offers an opportunity for library professionals to share their experiences with change, adaption, and flexibility in a fluid academic environment. The COVID-19 pandemic proved reference professionals nimble as we navigated modality changes, budget constraints/cuts, loss of personnel/vacancies, and work life balance. As various libraries continue to discover a new normal, let’s discuss how pivoting impacted your services, individual selves, and user experiences.

All proposal abstracts should be no more than 300 words and indicate the type of session you are proposing. We will be holding the following session formats:

  • Lightning Rounds (7-10 minute presentations)
  • Feature Presentations (20 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions)

Please submit your proposal by Friday, September 30, 2022.
Accepted presentations will be confirmed by Friday, October 14, 2022.

For more information, please visit CARLDIG-S LibGuide at: or contact 2022 CARLDIG-S chair elect, Leanna Pagano, at
We look forward to hearing from you!
